The device works perfectly with the app without needing to pay. for those who want to pay $15 per year, it unlocks the function of seeing the live position on the phone screen. however, everything else works without paying. the connection sometimes fails, but the device also works very well offline. tip: if you lose the connection, you have to reconnect through the app, and when you feel two vibrations, it means you've found the device, but then you need to click the device's button as soon as you feel the double vibration indicating connection (the app doesn't mention this during connection, and it seems like nothing happens and it won't pair again if you don't click the button right after the double vibration). the english version of the app is a bit weak, but the device works very well for its intended purpose.
